Kris Graham

Kris grew up in Naples, Florida, but ended up in Colorado in 2004 after leaving Wisconsin in search of better weather. She joined the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in July of 2007. Kris’ interest in social work began when she was researching ways to spend time overseas. She studied in Sweden and Hungary before moving to Scotland to volunteer at a self-supporting community for adults with developmental disabilities. The experience had such an impact; she moved to Pennsylvania six months later and switched her major from anthropology to sociology, graduating first in her class in 1995. While at school, she was offered an internship at a domestic violence center. The center hired her on full-time shortly before she graduated. After moving to Madison, Wisconsin in 1996, she returned to working with adults with developmental disabilities. While there, she had the opportunity to write the first relationship support program in Dane County, and the program is still being used as a model for residential services. The urge to travel continued, though, and she returned to Britain in 2000. She began in England, volunteering as an assistant to a man with muscular dystrophy, and then returned to Scotland to volunteer in a holiday home for impoverished families. In 2001, she returned to Wisconsin and began working at the public library. She continued working at the public library when she moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2004. When she moved to Denver in 2006, she returned to human services working with seniors at an adult day program until an Information and Referral Specialist position opened at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She is now the Employment Manager for the Information Resource Center at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society training Specialists on Title I of the ADA. She joined the Rocky Mountain ADA Center Leadership Network July of 2009.
