Billy S. Allen

Billy S. Allen, M.S.W., A.P.P.;
Billy completed his undergraduate studies concentration in Social Work and minor in Government Law at Gallaudet University. He also completed a dual Masters program in Social Work and Administration Policy & Planning from Rutgers University. Billy is a committed lifelong deaf professional with a concentration in cross-disability policy, legislation, program development and maximizing collaborative capacity building with all entities serving/assisting the cross-disability organizations. He has progressive experience in the provision/facilitation to and for people with disabilities since 1981.

Billy currently: is a part of The Rocky Mountain Disability Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC) leadership network program which covers the five (5) states surrounding Colorado; Vocational education teacher at Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind; and Facilitator for Communication Access Network based in Colorado, and Governor’s appointed member of the Colorado Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC).

The majority of Billy’s work has been done in California & New Jersey. Recently moved to Colorado in 2005. Presently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his lovely wife Lisa who is a proud 5th-generation Coloradoan, and his two sons. Lisa and Billy take great pleasure in riding motorcycles in the backcountry of the Rockies and relaxing with their friends.
