As a consumer of the Montana Independent Living Project in Butte, Montana, I was asked to become a Peer Advocate. Eventually I was assigned to work with Todd Hoar, BSB Developmental Disabilities Council Director and BSB ADA Coordinator, to help form and reestablish Butte Silver Bow’s ADA Advisory Committee.

Sue McNicol has worked in the Human Services field for the past 20 years and holds a BS in Human Services from Montana State University-Billings.

I am the State Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for Montana State Government. My duties include providing training, technical assistance, and analysis to state agencies on EEO, ADA, diversity, and affirmative action.

Kathleen Laurin, Ph. D., has extensive experience in the area of human rehabilitative services. She is currently a Project Director for the University of Montana Rural Institute, Center for Excellence in Disability Education, Research, and Service. She is responsible for all Rural Institute Assistive Technology programs and contracts including recreational projects focused on increasing access to outdoor environments and increasing opportunities for adaptive wildlife viewing, fishing, and hunting.
